2018 first production of Barbaresco DOCG Meruzzano
Barbaresco DOCG Meruzzano 2015 vintage of only 800 bottles: a red wine with garnet hues and aged in 225-litre French oak barriques, following a slow 45/50-day maceration on the skins.
We planted the vines ourselves in 2013 and the first harvest was in 2015, with the release in 2018.
It’s a project we care a lot about and that’s why we also decided to produce a Barbaresco Riserva in the best vintages. The difference from our classic Meruzzano is the ageing in barriques for 48 months instead of 24.
The 2018 vintage was excellent and was the first to have a Barbaresco DOCG Meruzzano and a Barbaresco DOCG Meruzzano Riserva Gregorio.
Gregorio is our second son, born in October 2018 right during the Barbaresco harvest.
We only continue to produce the Riserva in the best years.
